In the first match played on Saturday in the 15th season of IPL, former Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni managed to score a half-century against Kolkata Knight Riders after 28 innings and 3 seasons. Earlier, Dhoni had scored his last fifty in IPL against Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2019. Then Dhoni scored an unbeaten 84 off 48 balls. Yesterday he remained unbeaten on 50 off 38 balls against Kolkata.
After this innings of Dhoni, Chanchal Bhattacharya, who was the coach of his club, told Dainik Bhaskar that this innings of Mahi is the result of his hard work. He sweated profusely with the young bowlers in the off-season. He used to practice batting with young bowlers of the Under-19 and Jharkhand Ranji team by going to the stadium in Ranchi. He has also included some young bowlers as net bowlers in Chennai's team.

Dhoni's coach further said that the former CSK captain has done a lot of work on fitness in the gym and on the ground. His fitness in the match was also amazing. It did not seem out of anywhere that he had turned 40. His running between the wickets was also like that of the young players. I believe he can play for one more year in IPL but Dhoni always takes shocking decisions. In such a situation, nothing can be said with the claim about the next season.
Will show in the next innings and Kamal
Bhattacharya further said – The way Dhoni has practised with young players in Ranchi during the off-season, I can say with the claim that he will show the more brilliant game in the next matches of IPL. And many more records will enter their names.
Inspiration for the young players of the team
Chanchal said that of course, Dhoni has left the captaincy of CSK, but his innings was no less than an inspiration for the young players of the team. He has shown that he is ready to take on the role of mentor to young players.
Even now, the good finisher
the coach praised Dhoni, saying that after three years, Dhoni once again played an innings of 50 runs in 38 balls and told him that there is still a lot of cricket left in him. Also, he is a good finisher. I am hopeful that this season with the help of his brilliant game, he will give victory to the team.
